The Silent Destroyer: How Suppressing Jealousy Erodes Our Inner Power

Jealousy. Just the word alone can make a woman shrink.
We’ve been taught that it’s ugly. Petty. Shameful. That a mature, empowered woman should rise above it, breathe through it, or better yet pretend she never feels it at all.
But let’s be honest: jealousy doesn’t go away just because we refuse to name it. It festers in the dark, morphing into comparison, resentment, or even self-loathing. And when we push it down, it doesn’t disappear, it buries our clarity, our desire, and our power along with it.
In my own life, I’ve come to see jealousy differently.
When I feel that sting, when someone else has something I deeply want it’s become a powerful catalyst. Not a flaw. Not a weakness. But a call to action.
Jealousy shows me what matters. It shines a light on what I’ve been putting off, downplaying, or telling myself I can’t have. And when I allow myself to feel it, without judging it, something shifts. I start to move toward the very thing I desire.
I’ve seen this again and again in the women I work with too.
When they stop suppressing or spiritualising jealousy, and instead allow it to be fully felt in the body without performance, without shame something unlocks. A new truth. A hidden longing. A reawakened spark of motivation.
Inside the Fembodiment™ Method, we don’t fear jealousy. We listen to it. We welcome it as a wise messenger from the body a whisper (or sometimes a roar) saying:
“There’s something here for you.”
Because jealousy isn’t destructive - suppression is.
When a woman stops hiding from her jealousy and instead allows it to guide her, she reclaims her agency, her clarity, and her direction. That’s when her inner power returns. That’s when things start to change.
So instead of judging your jealousy, try this:
Feel it.
Follow it.
And ask: What is this showing me that I want too?
You might be surprised where it takes you.
This is the kind of emotional truth telling and bodyful rewiring we explore inside The Fembodiment™ Method. If you’re ready to deepen your relationship with your body, your emotions, and your inner power then you’re so welcome to join the next Fembodiment™ Method training this September.
